The Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta is a challenging offshore sailing race organised every year by the Royal Selangor Yacht Club in association with the RORC. It consists of three overnight passage races, 260 miles in total, plus 3 days of harbour racing in Penang and Langkawi. With regatta dinners almost every night, a rickshaw race and lots of opportunities to socialise, onshore activities are just as demanding as the sailing. The event attracts a large variety of yachts, from top class IRC1 racers to slow classic cruisers dating back over 100 years, all of whom had to cope with unpredictable weather and changing tactics during the 9 day mix of races past tropical islands.

Plans are being made for a very special regatta this year, with more boats, bigger parties and a few surprises. We expect a bumper turn out for the 25th event, with a number of boats and skippers already committed at this early stage. Come and enjoy fantastic and varied racing off the west coast of Malaysia, with a high level of competition in all classes. RSYC hopes to see many old friends and past winners returning for this milestone event, in addition to people joining us for the first time. 2014 is "Visit Malaysia" year, so it's the perfect time to come and enjoy the delights of this tropical country.

Thanks to everyone who completed our survey after the 2013 event. Your feedback is invaluable and will help us to plan the best possible regatta for all. RMSIR will continue to develop and change, with different venues and courses under discussion for future years. ................
