Just 160 days to go before the 32nd RMSIR kicks off at Royal Selangor Yacht Club, Malaysia and, after a 2 year gap in the international calendar, many are keen to see the return of this unique event.

Notice of Race issued

The provisional NOR is released and downloadable - A few minor changes to cope with recent WS rule changes, but the old familiar format remains; with 3 passage races up the coast and harbour races in Penang and Langkawi. Classes remain as in previous years, with Class 1 open to any IRC boat wishing to battle for the prestigious Raja Muda Cup. Class 2 for fully fitted IRC cruisers will fight for the Jugra Cup, whilst IRC classes 3 & 4 will see the return of many boats wishing to renew old contests. We hope that classes 5 (cruisers) and 6 (classics) will once again see the usual large amount of non IRC boats of previous years with boats from Singapore, Thailand and beyond.

Information for Overseas boats entering Malaysia.

Participant coming to RMSIR can clear in to a number of different ports, including Port Klang, Port Dixon and Langkawi. We recommend clearing in at Port Klang, as Malaysian Government agencies here are a little more cooperative to sailing yacht skippers and all of the offices that you need to visit are within a short distance of each other.
As in past years you need to clear in at Immigration to present passports, the port authority Jabatan Laut, and Customs. In addition, all sailors on board need to be double vaccinated and their vaccination certificates need to be presented for checking at the local Health Ministry office.
All boats need to be insured, at least third party and a copy of the insurance should be shown to Jabatan Laut, along with the ships registration and clearance from the last port of call.
For crew arriving by air there are vaccination requirements, but no quarantine for those that test negative.
We will announce any changes to these procedures nearer to the time of our event, together with the addresses of the relevant offices.

Online Registration now open

No need to tell one regular participant from Singapore, who managed to register for this year within minutes of the system being updated and going live... without even an announcement! ... worthy of a special prize!
We hope others who intend to join will do the same, as knowing boat and crew numbers greatly assists in the planning and budgeting, especially as sponsorship is much lower now due to recent events. You can register and then make changes and even pull out (we hope not) at any time until the day before the start.

Ways to Pay

Early Bird discount applies to payments received BEFORE 1st October, so enjoy discount by paying early.
Rates have remained the same as the 2019 regatta so still excellent value for money.
We have added Jompay to the payment options for those paying online via a Malaysian Bank. - It will be activated very soon and more details are on the website pages and inside the online registration system.

Remember to check the "RMSIR2022 attendees" link in the NOR so that you can keep up to date with changes and ask any questions. See you on the water in November...
